We first met Don Innis—DJ, dad and Universal Works regular—almost a decade ago, at the opening of Liquor Store’s new location, where we have our partnership store in Birmingham. We have kept up with him ever since, thanks to his regular visits to our Coal Drops Yard store.

“We met Don at an event at Liquor Store in Birmingham. Stephanie and I noticed a very cool-looking guy at the event and I thought I recognised him, so I went to speak to him. While he had the lovely tones of a Brummie, he told us these days he is back in London. It turns out I was following his Instagram, which is why I thought I knew him! Maybe in these modern social media days, I did know him… Anyway, we got on that night and talked about clothes, our Birmingham roots, politics, music, and generally putting the world to rights I guess. Don has such a great spirit and a great family and is still a very cool dresser. I’m proud to say he’s a friend.”—David Keyte, UW Co-Founder.
