From desk to Departures...
An unplanned predicament over in Porto (we’ll spare you the details!) saw the marketing team on the next flight out...and we thought we’d share their journal with you...

“What started as a normal Friday turned into the chance to spend time with some of the people and factories who make our product, so we happily volunteered to help out.”

“The first factory we visited was a specialist in knitwear, who told us about the process behind the Merino Fine Knit tees from this season and showed us some previous seasons’ samples. We met some of the programmers who are responsible for translating the spools of yarn into the start of a knitted garment.”

“The main floor of the factory is where the handcraft happens. Linking, button holes, quality inspection, steaming and pressing, the whole lot happens on this floor and all by hand. It was amazing to see how much care and attention went into each garment.”

“The second factory we saw specialises in shirting, and despite this being a completely different production technique, the level of care and attention was exactly the same. This particular factory is still owned and operated by the family that opened its doors, and we were lucky enough to meet Joaquim whilst we were there.”

“In the free time we had, we spent the days exploring the city, even though it was only good weather for ducks, and managed to visit some of our friends La Paz in Ribeira and stockists The Be-Code Street.”

“It wasn’t a trip we had planned, but we are very glad we made it.”
