It's that time of year again when we visit the best hotel you've never stayed in: Hotel Deluxe. SS23.

The seasonal trip to Hotel Deluxe is inspired by a notional film that exists only in your imagination. Memories of hazy summer nights, the sunsets, the twilight, the faded colours.   

This time around we find ourselves in India in late summer; not quite The Darjeeling Express, but there is a palpable hint of Anderson in the atmosphere. Universal Works Co-Founder David Keyte has been travelling to India for many years now, often on a mission to source traditional hand craft fabrics alongside high quality twill cottons.

This love of India is more evident than ever in the Hi Summer 23 collection. It’s a celebration of its textiles, its people, it’s colours and is inspired by personal travel photos of "everyday life" which are incorporated within the t-shirt prints in the collection. 

This appreciation of the everyday woven into the identity of the collection. Utilising hand embroidery seen on shirts and outerwear, Ikat weaves, herringbone cottons alongside that typically UW mix of more modern textiles from recycled and up-cycled materials. All perfect for those long summer days.
