At Universal Works, we want to make your shopping journey as simple and informative as possible so we have created a refreshed trouser fit guide to make things easier for you. We're nice like that.
Here you will find the necessary details for each and every one of our trouser styles so you can find the perfect fit for you - if you need any more help or information on these styles then contact us for more info.
See below for more info on these new additions alongside some trusty UW. favourites.
Our slimmest trouser option, with a straight leg and the lowest rise of all UW trousers, plus two pockets to the front, and two on the back.
One of our slimmer-fitting trouser shapes, the Military Chino is our contemporary take on a classic style. Great fitting and flattering, these are not too tight and not too loose, clean and neat through the hips and thigh, with a taper towards the ankle.
A slightly cropped trouser, Hi Water is designed to sit above the ankle. A casual fit but neat around the hips, with rear patch pockets and a drawstring waist.
The Utility Pant sits between a fatigue pant and a chino, combining the best of both. Neat through the hips with a relaxed, tapered leg and hem darts for added shape, it features diagonal front pockets and simple patch back pockets. Based on our Fatigue Pant, it has a cleaner look thanks to the removal of pocket flaps and waist adjusters, giving it a more understated character.
The Fatigue pant takes its lead from the original military fatigue trouser. It is cut with a straight leg and made with large patch pockets at the front and rear, and a dart at the hem to reduce the opening and give a slight taper. The fit is slightly oversized and can be adjusted using the side waist tabs.
The Trooper Pant takes all the features of our Fatigue Pant and adds a little more room through the top created by a concealed dart behind the front pocket. Contrast topstitching emphasises the details including the distinctive pocket shape, darted hem and button-tab waist adjusters, bringing character to this practical, military-inspired style.
The 'Curved Pant' is a long-time UW. favourite with angled side seams, giving a unique loose shape - exactly the same as the 'Bakers Pant', with a slight name change.
The Super Chino is based on our much-loved Military Chino, reworked with a wider, looser fit and a subtly cropped length with turn-up cuffs. Its relaxed proportions recall classic Rude Boy style while retaining the character of its origins.
A UW classic, with a double-pleated front and a loose straight leg, cleverly cut with no side seams to give a flattering leg shape.
One of our bestselling styles, Pleated Track pant is an easy to wear loose, tapered trouser with a single pleat front and a drawstring waist for the perfect fit. Whilst fuller at the top the taper to a narrow hem can give the illusion of a slimmer fit. A best seller due to its versatility as it looks just as good paired smart with a jacket as it does as your go to daily trouser.
Duke Pant is a wide-leg pant with slight taper. It has a single pleat front, a fixed waistband and two rear patch pockets.
Grad Chino is a loose fitting fixed waistband trouser with military fatigue inspired back pockets. It is wide and loose but with a slight taper. This was formerly called Dizzy.
Gillespie pant is a relaxed fitting wide and straight legged trouser. It has a single pleat front and an elasticated draw cord waist.
Oxford pant is a relaxed fit with a single pleat front and a drawstring waist. A wide leg trouser with a slight taper. A fuller and larger shape when compared to our Pleated Track Pant.
A loose wide legged shape the Dutch pant is our widest pant, with stitched down front darts to create the shape but without bulk. They have waist adjusters and simple rear patch pockets.
