Topologie x Universal Works Available Now.

For our Topologie collaboration shoot we headed to Stanage Edge, a favourite weekend spot for many of our team. The pieces in the collection nod to climbing culture, and this location is where Topologie’s climbing roots meet our own link to the Peaks, and the co-ordinates printed on the labels point right back to that spot.

Whilst recceing the location with the National Park team, who helped us find the right boulders and connected us with local climbing centres to make sure everything was done safely, we met Meg and Fred; two climbers who later became part of the cast.

Across the collection, sewn-on labels feature co-ordinates that lead to Stanage Edge in the Peak District, where our photoshoot took place.

The Topologie crew travelled in from Hong Kong, greeted by British weather offering a nice mix of drizzle and sunshine. We even had to reshuffle dates at the last minute because of the rain (climbing on wet gritstone is not good for the rock, or the people climbing them).

A 5am call time set us up for a long day on the rocks, and coffee supplies at base camp were limited to thermos flasks. A very British picnic of scotch eggs and pork pies kept spirits high, though.

We shot a mix of bouldering and roped climbs, with bags swapped, straps re-rigged, and clothing tested as it was meant to be worn. There were no drones, as nesting birds had right of way, but there was plenty of laughter and a few aching arms by sunset.
