ROLLING WISDOM

For our latest Spring/Summer shoot, we've been spending some quality time with a local sports club that shares our love of community, and whose members are as passionate about bowls as we are about making nice clothes.

Following an initial visit and introduction to the Gedling Indoor Bowls Club committee, a meaningful relationship blossomed. Out of this connection emerged the idea of hosting the shoot against the backdrop of the bowls green, with some of their club members decked out in our Spring/Summer collection. The result is ROLLING WISDOM, a short film that champions interaction and collaboration via a friendly game of indoor bowls.

The club, located approximately 3 miles from Universal Works’ Nottingham HQ, is a big part of the local community here in Nottingham, UK. This isn't just a sporting venue; it's a beloved hangout for its 280+ members. Many visit multiple times a week, whether for a casual game of bowls or to catch up with friends. It's where bonds are formed and good times are had, and that’s something we can definitely get behind.

While this sport is often associated with retirees rather than younger individuals, we’ll happily go on record and say that needn’t be the case. After a few introductory sessions and plenty of bowls ending up in the ditch, it’s safe to say that Gedling Indoor Bowls Club can now count some enthusiastic new members among their numbers. Big thanks to longtime club members Jeff, Dale, and Pete who effortlessly modelled our latest collection and freely shared their rolling wisdom with us.
